Soil fertility is maintained and improved by the animals themselves and through the use of compost, soil minerals, and supplemental micronutrients. This is the home base ranch that raises Callicrate Beef and supplies Ranch Foods Direct. Ranch Foods Direct is a retail store and meat processing facility created by rancher Mike Callicrate to bring healthful, high quality, naturally tender meats directly to consumers straight from the ranch in an effort to benefit both consumers and ranchers. Their cattle-raising and processing system allows RFD to provide beef with quality and health advantages, no continuous fed antibiotics, more youthful animals at processing, an innovative and distinctive processing technique, and more care and consideration for animals and workers every step of the way. One thing unique about Ranch Foods Direct is that they are not associated with any other gigantic food processor like JBS SWIFT, Cargill or Tyson. That means more of the profits go back to family farmers and ranchers rather than into the coffers of very large multinational corporations.
