Taking classes through the University of Hawaii’s apiary program, he found a real passion for beekeeping. Today his wife, Donna helps out with the maintenance on their 150 hives in El Paso County. Their honey is raw and unfiltered, never heated to a temperature that could harm its natural benefits, and they offer three varieties: clover, alfalfa, and a mixture of local wildflowers. Web: http://www.simplyhoney.com/ Simply Honey is run by a 6th-generation bee keeper and consists of about 500 colonies of honey bees ranging from Deming, New Mexico to the San Luis Valley in Southern Colorado. The goal is simplicity, and the honey is not heated warming and is not micro-filtered. Essentially the honey goes straight from the hive to the jar. Only one size of jar, a pint, is available. Along with honey, they also have various other bee products, including pollen, beeswax and honey comb. Orders are taken by phone or email and will be shipped to the buyer, and honey ships in six packs. Produce: None.
